Lu was born and raised in China. She earned her PhD in 2010 in China and has been a lawyer in China from 2013 until the present. Lu also holds a Global Professional Master of Laws from the University of Toronto and is a visiting lawyer from Ontario. Lu is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese.
